Zoom Photo Festival Saguenay
Dès le 24 novembre et pendant près de 4 jours, Jean-François O’Kane sera au festival Zoom Photo qui bât présentement son plein à Saguenay. Il donnera plusieurs conférences et sera le maître de cérémonie d’un atelier bien particulier :
Performance Photo Portrait
Dix photographes s’affrontent lors de cet atelier unique, chacun disposant de trente minutes à l’intérieur d’un studio isolé et spécialement aménagé pour l’occasion, les participants n’ayant pas pu apprivoiser cet espace de travail au préalable.
Deux modèles sont disponibles pour cette activité, chacune étant vêtue d’une robe blanche. Le choix du modèle est déterminé au hasard pour chaque photographe. Un parapluie et un flash télécommandé sont mis à la disposition de chacun. Des webcams retransmettent en direct l’action à l’intérieur du studio au public. Celui-ci observe le déroulement de l’activité de l’extérieur, grâce à un écran. Les performances sont analysées en continu par Jean-François O’Kane et ce dernier recueille également les impressions des participants lorsqu’ils émergent du studio.
Le participant remet son appareil à un juge qui ne conserve que les six derniers clichés réalisés. Deux heures son ensuite accordées pour éditer et préparer un seul fichier portrait, qui peut être un composite de plusieurs images, au choix.

Les résultats seront exposés à la Pulperie de Chicoutimi et le vainqueur de l’épreuve sera annoncé par Jean-François O’Kane, lors de l’adresse de clôture de l’évènement ZoomSurLaPhoto édition 2011.

This compact and lightweight portable strobe is ideal for the photographer working on location. It features a high capacity Ni-H battery pack which delivers 100′s of flashes per charge while weighing only 0.78 kg.This battery through the use of Paramount Cycler Cables, may also power most popular speedlights. The Translite 2.0 flash head features 19manual power settings, adjustable in 1/3 steps, over a 5 stop range. There are several operating modes; Manual, Stroboscopic, Creative, and Slow Sync which allows the flash to be fired by a built- in camera flash. The Translite 2.0flash head accepts all Aurora professional soft boxes and umbrellas for greater flexibility.
This system can be operated via the sync cord provided or by wireless releases including Cactus and Flashwaves.
The Translite 4.0 features an additional stop of power over the 2.0 while remaining compact and lightweight. The flash head allows for 5stops of power adjustment from full to 1/64. It features a 35 watt modeling lamp (with auto shut off), accepts Aurora professional soft boxes, umbrellas,grids, barn doors and may be fired via wireless releases including Cactus and Flashwaves. There are several modes of operation, including High Speed,continuous up to 9 frames per second and stroboscopic.
The Translite 4.0 incorporates advanced IGBT control technology, allowing faster flash duration and consistent colour temperature over the entire power range of the flash. The Li-ion battery pack delivers over650 flashes per charge while remaining lightweight and compact. Through an accessory Paramount cycler cable, this battery pack may also be used to power most popular speedlight flashes.
